The Infamous Ford Grey,Earl of Tankerville by Dr Bob France
There was a good turnout for the first talk of the winter season held by Emsworth museum. It was given by Dr Bob France about the notorious Ford Grey.
It was an interesting account of his reckless past, which involved an affair with his wife's sister. He managed to escape being beheaded three times, once by spending time in Cleves. He entered into politics, becoming first Lord of the Treasury. He also rebuilt Uppark house as it is now. So though a troubled start, he made good in the end.
